About CABBI

For nearly 25 years, the California Association of Boutique and Breakfast Inns (CABBI) has helped discerning travelers find one-of-kind accommodations throughout the Golden State. From wine country escapes to desert hideaways and from coastal retreats to mountain getaways, CABBI offers over 200 quality-certified bed and breakfast inns and boutique hotels. In addition to providing unique stays and personalized service, each inn is inspected to ensure it adheres to CABBI’s highest quality standards.

CABBI maintains an online directory of its inns at CABBI.com, featuring listings for B&Bs and boutique hotels, lodging specials and packages, gift certificates, recipes, and more. It also publishes a monthly e-newsletter providing travel ideas and special deals from California inns.

In summer of 2015, CABBI launched a travel blog to provide travel inspiration and in-depth reviews of its member inns.

CABBI Mission Statement
To promote the bed and breakfast and boutique inn experience to the traveling public, and to educate, support and encourage CABBI members to provide a quality stay for inn travelers.

My first taste of bed and breakfast travel was over 20 years ago, while I was an undergrad in college. For spring break, I drove out to Colorado to visit an old high school friend. My friend's parents had gifted her with a stay at a swanky B&B in Estes Park. We scarfed a bunch of warm, homemade chocolate chip cookies and indulged in luxurious bubble baths by the fire with a view of the Rocky Mountains. It was a much needed respite from final exams and papers. And it ruined me for ever staying in bland, chain motels again.

I'm a freelance writer and graphic designer based in Portland, Oregon.
